Did you know that the very first television advert was broadcasted in the 1940’s? Before then, people only watched shows in theatres, where people acted out their stories in plays. One of the very first TV shows for children ever aired was The Jetsons, which was only aired in 1962. Today, some of the most popular TV shows for children include SpongeBob Square Pants, Pepper Pig, Barney and Dora the Explorer. Today we have so many options when it comes to watching a show. We have DVD’s, cinemas, live shows at theatres and schools, and a host of options on the television.
Shows can be watched on the television, at the movies on the big screen, or live on a stage. Shows for children can capture comedy, love, excitement and much more. Children become enthralled with excitement as their favourite characters prancing around, in their costumes making children laugh and sing along to their songs. In most cases, children’s TV shows are just as much fun for grownups to watch as well. Yaya loves to watch her favourite shows with her dad, they laugh together and she loves to tell him what she enjoys about the story’s they tell. When Yaya watches her favourite shows, she often pretends that she is in character, and dresses up and dances around singing her favourite songs from the show. Any show, be it a television or live show, can bring so much happiness and wonder to a child and adult alike!
